  • regional development and planning – the department town planning works on statements for federal and regional projects, regional development procedures and concepts. 
  • municipal development and planning – This business field belongs to the department town planning and comprises, among others, preparing and working out municipal building projects in the frame of building schemes how to use municipal areas as well as concepts of municipal development and rebuilding. House owners and investors can have advice and information on legal, structural and creative matters.
  • reconstruction and restoration – The department reconstruction and restoration initiates, coordinates and gives advice on preparing and carrying out public and private building projects in municipal reconstruction areas and issues permissions.
  • traffic planning – Drafting of concepts and planning of moving and stationary traffic, facilities of local public transport as well as for pedestrians and cyclists, and participating in regional and supra-regional traffic concepts also belong to the tasks of the office of municipal development and planning, department town planning. 
  • outdoor advertising – The office of municipal development and planning, department town planning, is in charge of working out and implementing Rudolstadt’s statutes on advertising facilities. The office gives advice to investors and entrepreneurs regarding the acceptance of advertising in the community and considers their applications for special advertisements.
  • properties – The department properties is responsible for managing, operating and conducting of the community’s immovable properties, renting and leasing of municipal sites and buildings as well as for settling transactions like buying, selling and exchanging of properties and negociating and concluding heritable building rights and contracts.
